What’s new in September?

The Arbor School Management suite brings together best-in-class, specialist tools to support operations across your whole school or trust, and streamline the most time-consuming tasks and processes your staff face today.

BI Viewer – graduated from Labs 🧪

No more logging in to multiple places to access your BI dashboards. BI Viewer lets you embed BI reports created in Microsoft’s PowerBI or Google Looker Studio directly into a page in your MIS. This makes sharing reports more simple, and gives you controlled access to share with colleagues in your organisation. Learn more.

Document Manager – ArborFest Pitch Perfect winner 🥇

At this year’s ArborFest, we hosted a pitch session where you voted on what feature you’d like us to release next. The winning feature – Document Manager – is now live! This means one central place to view, search, filter, and bulk manage documents linked to students, staff, guardians, and wider school activities. Learn more.

Venn diagrams – graduated from Labs 🧪

We’ve graduated our Venn diagram feature out of Arbor Labs and into the School MIS, so all Arbor users now have access! With this, we’ve updated the tool with more accurate intersection logic, faster drilldowns, and widened the permissions needed to use it. Find it under Students > All Students > Venn Diagram Analysis. Learn more.

Payments in-app help guide

Bringing your payments into Arbor is one of the simplest ways to save time and money, and make your staff’s lives easier. Setting up Arbor Payments is now even easier with our comprehensive in-app help guide. Simply head to [the Payments page in your MIS] and click the ‘Need Payments Help?’ button. Learn more.

Updates to report cards

At ArborFest, one of the top-voted improvements from schools was around making it easier to find and edit previously created report cards. To fix this, we’ve converted every section of standard and long report cards to tables instead of simple lists, and added bulk actions.

Prevent parent meal debt

We’ve added a new setting to the Parent Portal and App to help you manage and prevent parent meal debt. You’ll find the ‘Allow Meal choices if not enough balance?’ setting in the Parent Portal Menu Availability slideover, which you can toggle on or off. Learn more.

Updates to permissions

  • You can now reset permission management for group and school business roles, directly from MAT MIS, and without needing to contact our support team. Take control of permissions and tailor them to your needs, with the flexibility to switch back at any time.
  • We’ve created a new All Staff Ad-Hoc Permissions page, so you can see which school and trust staff have permissions outside of their standard business roles, and can amend them if needed.

BI Viewer in MAT MIS
Just like in the School MIS, you can also use the BI Viewer to embed your BI dashboards into the MAT MIS. Learn more.
